After an easy and strangely fast negotiation you will close the business of your life. 0,80 EUR the FOB price; EUR 0.2 the cost of transport and custom clearance; 0.1 EUR storage and distribution, and away! I sell an A4 ream of 1.10 EUR to 1.70 EUR. Minimum net profit 60 cents a ream. 8250 reams in a 20 foot, total of 4,950 EUR earned in one container. Not bad, huh?
The vendor will ask you for many credentials. You know, getting A4 paper is not easy, there’s a lot of demand. But you are lucky. They can produce 50,000 tons of paper per month (2,380 containers, or about 100 per day …), and with only 30% down payment you will be guaranteed the trial order (slow down, first we want to see the quality…). You will be so committed to providing your data that will not come to your mind to ask THEIR credentials. The export manager is very kind, very efficient. It responds at all times to its cellphone number (using whatsapp). He will give you a bank account (sometimes in Thailand, others in Singapore or Hong Kong) to credit the sum.
After a dozen days you will be blocked on whatsapp and there will be a tremendous doubt. Maybe they frauded me?

Scammers and A4 Paper Scam Thailand
Unfortunately, these things happen on a weekly basis. Here is a brief overview of the scammers active in trading A4 paper in Thailand.
They generally come from Central Africa (Cameroon, Nigeria), India, Pakistan or Bangladesh. They’ve been to Bangkok for a couple of weeks, opened a bank account, and bought one or more SIM cards to which they associated to a Whatsapp account. They came back to their country, opened a site and developed it by taking pictures from the net. The most experienced have even opened an offshore company in Hong Kong (normally closed after the first year of activity, anyway the trace remains …).
The factory they say they have is usually located in two places:
- At the same address as one of the real and well-known factories in Thailand
- In the open country, generally in remote provinces or in the extreme south of the country, where it is advised not to risk terrorism
The name with which the company is registered can be
- Real, meaning they use the name of a company in the Thai business register with a different address
- Not existing in the Thai business register
In short, if you are not surprised by the fact that a company based in Nan, Thailand, declares to ship its contaners from Singapore (2,497 km away), at least let yourself be asked about this warning issued by the world’s leading company that has Several factories in Thailand (see here) …
